The Story Behind Aikenhead
In the 1690s, green coffee beans arrived through the Port of Waterford and were roasted, brewed, and served at John Aikenhead’s Coffee House on Coffee House Lane. The Aikenhead Blend celebrates this important part of Irish coffee history and honours the man behind what is believed to be Ireland’s first coffee house.
