Greer’s is a business that has been around for five generations. It is located on Michael Street, Waterford City. It is a place that is rich in history, with most of their recipes being passed down from generation to generation. Not only does this place provide great cakes for any occasion, but it also provides buns, breads, scones and the list goes on. Greer’s has been around since 1888 by William Greer, a Tyrone man who set up Greer’s on Michaels Street and since then they have been delivering 134 years of great cakes.
As time has gone on, there have been many changes and upgrades to Greer’s to keep the place that family-friendly atmosphere that makes customers want to go there and have a bun or a slice of cake with their family. Greer’s have also introduced coffee and tea to their establishment as well as an outdoor seating area which they were able to expand upon during the covid-19 pandemic. Their outdoor seating area has a lovely “Greer’s Green” awning which provides shelter during the rain and shelter during hot weather.
Greer’s is well established here in Waterford. The beauty about Greer’s isn’t just their cakes, but it’s also their customers, which go from generation to generation with many customers who bring their children to Greer’s, like their parents would have done with them when they were kids. The staff in Greer’s are lovely, often known to treat their customers like part of the Greer’s family itself.
For a place for people to stop at to have a coffee, Greer’s sells our Coffee House Lane 1690 Blend. They remarked on how people always speak highly of our coffee and are surprised when they hear that it is locally roasted here in Waterford. We hope that Greer’s will continue to use our coffee in the future.
